Friends,
Just updating the Friends part of the club site to include Edition 13 (Part 1, 2 and 3) of Jim Hartshorne’s photograph Collection. There are some wonderful photographs in these editions taken over the years. The other two newsletters were ones of a previous ’T at the Tummel Friends party’ and one just of some happy photographs taken at the club.
I have recently been given a number of some really wonderful snippets of stories and hope that I will have a full edition on its way shortly packed with some interesting tales.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words but, to be honest, I also find the thousand words pretty interesting.
Who would have believed that the club had once tried to remove the tree stumps at the edge of the water by just asking some of the members with 'connections’ in the right places to just get some dynamite and then try to blow them up as they hid behind a mound of earth or that a light aircraft pilot ended up in court after some seriously low flying over the Loch on the day he passed his pilots licence. You do not really expect to have to duck for an aircraft when you are out sailing in a Mirror dinghy…
These stories are all in previous editions.
The dynamite probably would not happen now and, on reflection, that might be for the best.
This is your chance to share some of your own stories so let’s be having them shipmates…
Richard
