Scottish Club Trophy
This week sees most Scottish Schools restarting after the summer break and what a weekend to end it all. The RYA Scottish Club Trophy was hosted by LTSC this past weekend with nearly 80 children competing from all over the country.
The morning session saw excellent coaching from both RYA Scotland performance coaches as well as a number of junior coaches from National squads etc. Over the lunch break the wind picked up to the what at times looked like it might delay the race series but with some careful planning the more experienced led the way and with the wind backing off the rest of the fleet joined them for the racing session.
The overall Scottish Club Trophy was won by the RTYC, congratulations RTYC.
The RTYC team included the clubs own Daniel Scott and Suzie Sturrock who are members there as well. Daniel won the Optimist fleet overall and Suzie was 2nd in the Feva fleet. Tom Goodman who joined LTSC this year was sailing for his other club Prestwick and won the Topper fleet.
Full weekend report and results along with photos are available at RYAS website via http://www.ryascotland.org.uk/news/Pages/scottish-club-trophy-2016.aspx

Club Closing Regatta
The club regatta will be held over the weekend of September 10th & 11th with the NOR with full details being issued later this week. The main visiting fleet will be the Solos; they will have Saturday results extracted for their traveler series as well as boats sailing on both days.
The expectations is around 30-35 boats in total for the regatta with the RS400 and Lasers already having held travelers at the club back in April.
The current thoughts are to run as a 'Retro Regatta' with courses that you have to write on the back of your hand and a prize for the best beer towel sewn on a sailing suit.
If you able to help in safety boat, kitchen or in the race box (likely shore starts) please contact me, there will be a form made available on the website along with the NOR for volunteers. Even one day would be great.

Scottish Coastal Rowing Inland Sprints
The details are yet to be finalized but the club has been asked to host the Inland Sprints for the Scottish Coastal Rowing onOctober the 29th. A bit of diversity in the normal club activities but then we welcomed the sailing canoes for several years.
Beyond the date the details are yet to be locked down, and we are still to finalize the plans with respect to the work party arrangements as the last sailing currently scheduled is October the 9th.
