Race Report 23rd April

A bright, breezy and cool day on the water today. The morning race looked as if it was going to be fairly fruity, but actually turned out very pleasant, or it did at least look like that from the shore! Douglas and Kirsty Hamilton had the better of Richard and Mhari Harper in the battle of the 200's, but it was Denise Logan who won the race in her Europe from the Hamilton's with the Harpers in third.

The second race started out in more gusty conditions, with some large shifts which allowed most of the fleet to arrive at the windward mark together, along with a large shift and increase in wind speed. The Hamilton's and Harper's had a another battle in the 200's until with increasing gusts, the Harpers retired with gear failure. A selection of capsized Europes littered the race course, that allowed the Hamilton's to take the win from Mark and Isla Barron in their first outing of the season in their RS 200, and John Uytman 3rd in his Catapult.

See you all next weekend for some training on Sunday, and closed regatta on Sunday.
